Cushy Mix!
Cushions are FUN! That is right...... never has it been so easy to mix and match cushions and make them a feature in a room. Gone are the days of choosing cushions to match everything else, now they are the feature and everything else matches. No longer is it a rule and thumb to choose one cushion and have five of them the same. In this situation we have gone with a neutral colour pallet reflecting an airy summer softness.
General rules. Run with at least one consistent colour in all the cushions. Biggest to the back with the smallest to the front. Don't be scared of texture but embrace it. Always work in odd numbers to obtain a balanced look.
Step 1 - Start with one lead cushion ( your feature cushion-front cushion)
Linen Chic 30×60
Step 2 - Work you darker color in behind but again don not go too big yet
Linen Luxe Stripe 45×45
Classica Sand 30×50
Step 3 - Now build on height towards the back
Linen Chic 50×50
Linen Coconut Button 60×60
Step 4 - Use a ‘karate chop’ in the middle of the cushion to create a crease in them – this will make them seem more lived in and loved. It will also help to break up uniform shapes, and unite cushions of different colors, sizes and designs.
Interior styling relies on cushions, they’re the “red lipstick of the lounge”. They are also incredibly versatile and are the easiest ways to get the satisfaction of re-decorating without the hassle and high cost.
