As Seen On The Block | Upstairs Main Bedrooms

What a whirl wind of a week for Main Bedroom/WIR. Strain was felt by the contestants, trades and suppliers. Definitely one of the most important spaces in a home on The Block from a selling aspect, so the contestants were under the pump to produce some special spaces representing the market they were aiming to attract for Auction day.

I found the teams to be a little stressed this week and I think that most years this is the time they tend to have been away from home too long and tensions start to take their toll.

Kyle & Leslie (House 1) decided that they wanted to keep their room looking as big as possible and didn't go with a rug this week, but opted for carpet throughout the space. I found their space calming however a little small on a main bedroom side of things. Overall a relaxing area that appealed.

Leah & Ash (House 2) was going to be something interesting from the time I spotted her mood board and heard her ambitions for this area. I was some what nervous for her that this was either going to be a big who factor to nose dive. Thankfully the curves through the ceiling in the dreaming white where dreamy and gave off a flow of light during the day and mood during the night. This area was a big space to fill and she wanted a rug to engulf the area using the ceiling for inspo and a colour she was flowing through from other areas in the home. Hit or Miss in the judges eyes, it was a complete risk taking moment and this is what The block is about. Leah chose a stunning rug from our Rug Addiction collection | Ikat Rug.

Kirsty & Brett (House 3) created something special this week with a brave colour pallet in honey golds which worked back so well with tan leathers, timbers and flowing whites. The Venetian plaster was a stunning colour to show case the King Size Bedhead and they decided to run their run elongated down the room to give it length. Kristy chose our luxe shimmering finished Elements Rug in Copper.

Steph & Gian (House 4) took the win with this amazing take on Japandi Sway in their main bedroom. With a big layout retreat come Main Bedroom suite that any parent would love to have. Keeping in true form to their colour choices for  their home Steph decided to go with our best selling Bungalow Rug in Oyster Shell seen here in a 3m x 4m size to balance their space and define their bedding.

Eliza & Liberty (House 5) had a nightmare of a week and it reflects in this room with a loss of focus, however saying that it is well done, with them falling in love with an art piece and designing the room around it, using our Hampton Indigo White Rug | Blue. Remembering these girls have no experience in any part of building, painting or design before they walked onsite, they are still in the competition. Their layout was perfect, but they do not need to follow through the Rust, Blue and White into a main bedroom as in the other spaces, said judges.

Over all there were some beautiful spaces that I am sure many would like to have as their own. Personally I think the judges got it right after being in all of the rooms I felt an emotion of home when I entered Steph and Gian's room yet again.  All of our photos are supplied by The Block Shop and credited to David Cook Photography.
