A Decade of Winning Rooms with The Block

Celebrating Ten Years of Rug Addiction with The Block

Ten years. So many memories, beautiful rooms and wonderful people.

Our journey began with Reno Rumble in Bendigo, before taking us to Elsternwick in Melbourne for The Block. From there, the whirlwind began. New locations, new contestants and beautiful rooms that needed to come together in a hurry!

This 2026 season, we’re celebrating a very special milestone at Rug Addiction, ten years of working with The Block television show. For our family owned rug business in Bendigo, it’s been a decade filled with excitement, winning room reveals and encounters we’ll always treasure.

Seeing our rugs become part of these homes has never lost its magic. From those first conversations with contestants to watching the finished rooms revealed on television, we still get excited every time.

You can discover some of those memorable designs in our collection of rugs and runners as seen on The Block.

The People Behind the Beautiful Rooms

We all see the incredible transformations on screen, but some of our favourite memories are of the people behind them.

Over the years, we’ve met contestants with different personalities, ideas and approaches to creating a home. Helping them find a rug that brings their vision together has been such a rewarding part of the experience.

There have been plenty of conversations about colour, texture and size, often with a room reveal fast approaching. While the finished spaces are beautiful, it’s the people and those little moments along the way that stay with us.

Looking back through our photos brings so much of it back. Familiar faces, visits to building sites, shared excitement and the fun of being involved.

Celebrating Winning Rooms on The Block

Across the past decade, we’ve been delighted to supply rugs for many memorable spaces, including winning living, dining room reveals, hallway reveals, even kitchen reveals.

A rug can make such a difference to a room. It connects the furniture, introduces texture and brings warmth to the finished space. Watching that happen on The Block, then seeing the judges respond to the completed room, is always a proud moment.

Some lovely memories include Kirsty and Jesse’s Wedgewood hall runner, along with the bouclé rugs featured in Rachel and Ryan’s home in 2022 and Kristy and Brett’s in 2023.

Each home has had its own personality. We’ve loved seeing how contestants use rugs and runners to create inviting living areas, restful bedrooms and welcoming hallways.

A Special Memory with Adam and Jolene

A recent highlight was working with Adam and Jolene at Mount Eliza, supplying the rugs for their winning living and dining rooms.

They were so organised and seemed to be having such fun with the whole experience. Adam was such a gentleman, full of excitement and enthusiasm.

Being involved in their rooms was a pleasure. Watching their ideas come together, and then seeing those spaces receive a winning result, made it even more special.

After that we worked with All-Stars Maddy and Charlotte for the challenge house, which was so rewarding to give back to a very worthy cause for the Community.

It’s encounters like these that remind us why we’ve enjoyed being part of The Block journey for so long.

Follow Along as We Share Our Memories

Over the next couple of months, we’ll be celebrating our ten year journey with The Block on our social media pages. We’ll be sharing favourite photos, memorable rooms and some of the wonderful people we’ve met along the way.

We’d love you to join us for a little trip down memory lane. Follow us on Instagram @rug_addiction and Facebook as we share these special memories with you all.

Bringing The Block Rug Inspiration into Your Home

One of the loveliest parts comes after the reveal, when customers contact us because they’ve spotted a rug they love on the show.

Sometimes they’re looking for that exact design. Other times, a room has given them the confidence to choose a larger rug, explore a different texture or introduce a little more colour.

You don’t need to be renovating an entire house to enjoy that inspiration. A thoughtfully chosen rug can give an existing room a fresh feeling.

For a soft, textured foundation, explore our wool rugs. For a generous living or dining space, browse our extra-large rugs. Choosing a size that works with your furniture can help the whole room feel more connected.

Our team can help you take the inspiration you’ve seen and find something that suits your space, lifestyle and budget.

From Our Bendigo Rug Store to Australian Homes

Rug Addiction has been helping customers choose rugs since 1993. While our involvement with The Block has brought some exciting moments, personalised service remains at the heart of what we do.

Whether you’re choosing a living room rug, furnishing a bedroom or looking for a custom-length hall runner, we love helping that final piece fall into place.
