It is time to introduce The Block contestants that have been chosen to compete this year to renovate The Gatwick in Fitzroy Street, St Kilda.
Bianca Chatfield and Carla Dziwoki - Apartment 5 Penthouse
From Victoria, Bianca (36) and Carla (35): Best of friends and Champion netballers from Melbourne. Biana Chatfield played for both the Melbourne Vixens and the Melbourne Phoenix , winning gold with the Diamonds at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. She’s teamed up with Carla Dziwoki, former Swifts and Firebirds star. Both girls work extremely well together and it is obvious they respect each other highly. Their personalities are very down to earth, polite, but determined to do well. Bianca and Carla make up The Block girl team this year.
Norm and Jess - Apartment 4 Penthouse
Queensland's Dynamic duo of laughs a minute, Norm (40) and Jess (33) are here to bring it, right to the end. Norm having his own building business in Queensland and Jess, mum of two, a breakfast radio host for Sunshine Coast's Sea 91.9 and recently launched her online childcare support service, this couple complement each others abilities and are a team that will deliver some surprises, laughs and moments of chaos on this years Block for sure.
Sara and Hayden - Apartment 3
NSW's couple Sara (31) and Hayden (45), highly driven newlywed's and no strangers to renovations. Hayden, an experienced Construction project manager and professional photographer, reflects a relaxed attitude, but is very serious about their apartment. Sara, a former flight attendant who is now a stay at home mum to their beautiful daughter, the driving force with a direct attitude and an ambition to do well. This couple will definitely bring fireworks to the show under pressure, but never underestimate this couple as they have a plan.
Courtney and Hans - Apartment 2
From WA, Courtney (33) and Hans (37) are the flying high team. Hans a Commercial airline pilot and Courtney a flight attendant, have flown around the world, but their latest stop may be a bit of a shock! With no renovation experience but a worldly outlook, this couple I am sure will bring a new style of sophistication to their apartment. Another team to be watched carefully through out the series.
Kerrie and Spence - Apartment 1 (safe)
Barossa Valley in SA team Kerrie (48) and Spence (46), are The Blocks experienced team with the prior renovation of their dream project of a property in Victoria being featured in the architecture magazine, Grand Designs. Spence being a high end chippie by trade and Kerrie being a trained Theatre Nurse, this married couple are gentle souls that get the job done. Their imagination for design and attention to detail is a credit to their ability to go that little extra to present quality reveals.
