One of the standard sizes in the rug industry is a 160 x 230cm. This size may vary by 10cm in width or length pending on the origin of the rug as some countries have different size machines on which they make their rugs. Handmade rugs may also vary due to the translation of imperial sizing used overseas to the metric sizing used here in Australia. Even the thickness of the fibre used or the balance of design can also throw the sizing. This is the most common size that all rugs are available in as it is the most versatile for living spaces around the home.
